56. Act to override other laws.
(1)The provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder shall have effect notwithstanding anything in consistent therewith contained in any other law for the time being in force or any custom, usage or contract or decree or order of a court or other authority.(2)For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that the provisions of the Goa, Daman and Diu "irrigation" Act, 1973 (Act 17 of 1973) and the rules made thereunder shall apply to the extent such provisions are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.
