Section 57 in The Calcutta Metropolitan Water And Sanitation Authority Act, 1966
57. Authority to provide drainage, sewerage and outfall. -
(1)The Authority shall construct and maintain drains and sewers and provide a safe and sufficient outfall, in or outside the District, for effectual drainage and proper discharge of storm water and sewage of the District.(2)If the outfall deteriorates by the decay of existing river channels or otherwise, the State Government may require the Authority to take at its cost such action as may be necessary to ensure a safe and sufficient outfall.
