2. Definitions.
- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-(a)"Appendix" means the Appendix appended to these rules;(b)"Commission" means the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC);(c)"Director" means the Director of Economics and Statistics, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar;(d)"examination" means the Special Competitive Examination held by the Commission under these rules for the purpose of promotion to the post of Research Officer in the Gujarat Statistical Service, Class II, of persons specified in clause (b) of Rule 3 of the said recruitment Rules of 2012;(e)"Government" means the Government of Gujarat,
