Section 36(1) in The Orissa Boiler Operation Engineers' Rules, 2000
(1)A candidate for a 1st Class certificate of proficiency as a Boiler Operation Engineer shall not be less than 24 years of age and shall not be admitted to the examination unless he possesses -(i)a degree from a recognised. University or a certificate of passing Sections A and B of the AMIE Examination recognised by the Institution of Engineers of India in mechanical or electrical or instrumentation Engineering;(ii)not less than 2 years training in operation and maintenance of boilers and auxiliaries of an Industry/Power Station; and(iii)not less than 3 years practical experience in operation of boilers having heating surface not less than 1000 (one thousand) Sq. meters.
