Section 9(5)(b) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

(b)Direct admission to II/IV /VI or III/ V semester of a course under the semester basis by promotion shall be made provisionally on or after the tenth day but not later than 15th day of completion of the previous examination without waiting for results. The admission shall be ratified only after the declaration of results of the concerned previous class :
