Section 12 in THE THUNCHATH EZHUTHACHAN MALAYALAM UNIVERSITY ACT, 2013
12. Meetings of the General Council.- (1) The General Council shall meet at least
once in four months on the dates to be fixed by the Vice Chancellor and the annual reportand accounts of the preceding year shall be placed in the first meeting in a financial year andthe budget for the coming year shall be placed for approval in the last meeting in financialyear.(2)One third of the total members shall be the quorum of the meeting of theGeneral Council:Provided that such quorum shall not be required for convocation or a meeting convenedto confer degrees, titles or other distinctions.(3)The Vice-Chancellor may, at any time he thinks fit, convene a special meetingof the general council, for a specific purpose. Upon a requisition signed by at least tenmembers of the General Council convene a special meeting of the General Council for aspecific purpose and no subject other than the purpose for which the special meeting hasbeen convened shall be considered in the meeting.(4)In the absence of the Chancellor and the Pro-Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellorshall chair the meetings of the General Council.
