Section 17 in Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Rules, 2002
17. The general body meetings.
(1)The general body shall meet at least twice in a year, once before the first crop and once before the second crop. The meetings shall be presided over by the Chairman/President and, in his absence, by one of the Managing Committee members duly elected for this purpose.(2)The general body may also be called at any time by the President or Managing Committee members through a majority resolution or by members of the Farmers' Organisation through a requisition signed by not less than ⅓rd of the members with voting rights.(3)A general body meeting shall also be held on receipt of a direction to do so from the Government or from the Commissioner or by the next higher tier of the Farmers' Organisation in respect of matters relating to urgent public importance.
