5. Preparation of the Merit List and assigning ranking.

- The Convener of EAMCET shall follow the following rules in preparing the merit list and assigning the ranking:-
(1)The candidate who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weight age to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weight age to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology, Physics, Chemistry, as the case may be, in the qualifying examination."
(2)For the preparation of merit list, in case of more than one student securing the same combined score obtained as per sub-rule (1) above, the tie shall be resolved to decide the relative ranking by successively considering the following:-
(i)The total marks secured in Eamcet;
(ii)The marks secured in Mathematics or Biology, as the case may be, in Eamcet;
(iii)The marks scored in Physics in EAMCET;
(iv)The percentage of aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination;
(v)If the tie still persists, the date of birth of the concerned candidates, the older being given preference over the younger.
(3)The following rank lists shall be prepared by the Convener:
(i)State wide Common Merit List: The list shall include candidates irrespective of whether one belongs to any category of reservation quota or not.
(ii)Region - wise Common Merit List: The list includes candidates belonging to the particular local area irrespective of whether one belongs to any category of reservation quota or not.
(iii)Minority Community Merit Lists: They include merit lists, containing the candidates belonging to the different Minority communities arranged in the Merit ranking, both State wide and Region-wise.
(iv)Community-wise Lists:- There shall be separate Community wise merit lists for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Communities, both as State-wise and Region wise; and
(v)Merit list for other categories of reservations: There shall be separate lists for other categories of reservations as per the orders in force for physically handicapped, NCC, Games and Sports, Children of ex-servicemen and for women both Statewide and Region-wise.
(4)Every candidate who has been assigned rank in the merit list shall be issued Rank Card by the Convenor. The Rank Card, among other things, shall include the marks obtained in the EAMCET, marks secured in the group subjects in the qualifying examination, the combined score and the rank assigned in the State wide merit, region-wise merit, community-wise etc.,
