Section 9(6)(a) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

(a)For courses run on an annual basis for duration of three years or more-A candidate will be allowed to join 2nd or 3rd or 4th year class, as the case may be, only after he/she has passed all the subjects prescribed in first year and second year/third year respectively or is allowed to keep term as under Regulation 18.
