Section 9(5)(c) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

(c)The students of all classes/semesters promoted and admitted to next higher class/semester after completion of examination conducted as per Clauses (a) and (b) above their attendance for next higher class/ semester shall be counted, irrespective of declaration of result of previous class/semester, from the date of start of their session/ semester, the schedule of which is approved by the Board.
