(1)This Act may be called the Damodar Valley Corporation Act 1948.(2)It extends to the [States] [Substituted for the word "Provinces" by A.L.O., 1950] of [Jharkhand] [Substituted by the S.O. 1181(E)/2002, dated 6-11-2002] and West Bengal.(3)It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
