1228. Travelling allowance for journeys to give evidence.
(a)The rules regulating the travelling allowances of police officers summoned to give evidence in criminal and civil cases will be found in S. Rs. 150-151 of the Fundamental Rules. The responsibility for enforcing the orders therein contained rests on the head of the office.(b)A witness should not be refused payment of his expenses on the ground of failure to do his duty merely because he has been discharged without examination.
