Section 28(a) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992
(a)Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering courses of three year duration-(i)that in the case of Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering courses he/she joins at an affiliated institution from the second year class in which he wishes to qualify, subject to the availability of the seats in the course :
