Section 55 in Assam Elementary Education Act, 1962
55. Repeal and savings.
(1)On and from the date on which this Act comes into force the Assam Basic Education Act, 1954(Assam Act XXVI of 1954) shall be repealed.(2)Notwithstanding the repeal all authorities constituted, appointments, rules, orders or notifications made under the said Act shall be deemed to be constituted or made under this Act, and continue to function or to be in force until actions under the provisions of this Act are taken.(3)Any of the provisions of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956(Assam Act XV of 1957), which is repugnant to any of the provisions of this Act shall stand repealed.
