Section 24(2) in The Burdwan University Act, 1981.
(2)The Council for Undergraduate Studies in Arts Science, Commerce, Law, Fine Arts and Music shall consist of the following members: -(i)the Vice-Chancellor-Chairman;(ii)the Deans of the Faculty Councils for Post-Graduate Studies in Arts and Science;(iii)the Principal, Hooghly Mohsin College;(iv)the Principal, Durgapur Government College;(v)ten Teachers of affiliated colleges other than medical and engineering colleges, of whom one shall be from a teachers' training college, elected by such Teachers;(vi)two Teachers participating in Post-Graduate Teaching in the subject of subjects concerned elected by the members of the concerned Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies from amongst themselves;(vii)four Principals, of whom three shall be from Undergraduate Colleges of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Law and one shall be from a teachers' training college;(viii)two persons having special knowledge in the subject or subjects nominated by the Vice-Chancellor.(ix)[ three student representatives pursuing Undergraduate studies in different streams of education in the affiliated colleges of the University to be elected by such students from amongst themselves in the manner as may be prescribed by the statutes: [Inserted by Act No. 12 of 2011.]Provided that no two student representatives shall be elected from the same stream of education.]
