(1)The Academic Council of the University shall consist of the following members, namely:-(i)the Director General, who shall be the Chairman of the Academic Council;(ii)the Deputy Director General;(iii)two academicians or professionals, to be nominated by the State Government;(iv)two academicians or professionals connected with the service or training of police, military- or paramilitary forces, to be nominated by the Stale Government;(v)the Director of Research and Development;(vi)the Directors;(vii)one professor from each discipline of the University, by rotation, to be nominated by the Director General.(viii)[ three eminent academicians, to be nominated by the State Government;] [Added by Gujarat Act No. 14 of 2013, dated 10.4.2013.](2)The Registrar shall be the Secretary of the Academic Council.(3)The term of office of the members nominated under [clauses (iii), (iv), (vii) and (viii)] [Substituted 'clauses (iii) (iv) and (vii)' by Gujarat Act No. 14 of 2013, dated 10.4.2013.] of sub-section (1) shall be three years.
