Section 10 in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

10. Minimum qualification.

- A candidate seeking admission to the first year class in any of the Certificate Diploma or Post Diploma or P.G. Diploma course in various Technological/Engineering branches or other courses shall have the minimum qualification as prescribed by the Board, from time to time, subject to the following explanation. The minimum qualification prescribed for admission by the Board at present are given in Schedule IV.Explanation - (a) A candidate having passed Higher Secondary Examination from any examining body, declared equivalent to under the rule framed under the Intermediate Education Act, 1921, and as amended from time to time for the purpose of enabling his/her to enter into the course of study permitted for the Intermediate Examination of Board of High School and Intermediate Education, U.P. Allahabad shall be deemed equivalent to High School Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, U.P. Allahabad for purpose of admission.Any other examination at the Intermediate stages of Secondary, Boards even though recognised by the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, U.P., Allahabad under the said Act, shall need reference to the Board of Technical Education for admission to the Diploma Certificate courses.
(b)A candidate having passed 10th Class of 10+2 examination from a Board and recognised equivalent to High School or 10th class of 10+2 scheme under Intermediate Education Act, 1921 as amended from time to time, shall be deemed equivalent for purpose of admission to Diploma courses.
(ii)Science includes General Science and Physical Science.
(iii)Pre-University Examination with Science and Mathematics passed after High School, if it is a public examination shall only be deemed to be at per with High School.
(iv)B.Sc. Part I Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of a three year degree-course, if it is a public examination shall be deemed to be at per with Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
(v)The grade marks, which are awarded to a candidate under the rules of any particular examining body to make him eligible for a pass either in subject or in aggregate six all not be added in aggregate or calculating the percentage of marks in aggregate for admission.
(vi)Pre-Engineering Examination after Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. If it is a public examination shall be considered at per with an Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
(vii)A candidate who did not offer Science or Mathematic or both at the qualifying examination but passed the same higher examination offering the required subjects as prescribed, shall also be eligible for admission.
(viii)In regard to a candidate who passed the qualifying or higher examination as departmental candidate with the same subject as prescribed, the percentage of marks shall be calculated as follows :
'The marks obtained by such a candidate at the Supplementary Examination be added to the marks obtained by him at the main examination after excluding the marks obtained in the subject in which he /she once had been declared eligible for supplementary Examination. The aggregate thus obtained be considered for working out the percentage."
(ix)The proof of minimum eligible educational qualification required for any of the courses under the Board shall have to be submitted to the Principal of the concerned affiliated institution not later than the last date(s) prescribed by the institution for seeking the admission by a candidate and in any case not later than 31st August of each year.
