50. Appointment of academic staff members to be made on recommendation of Selection Committee.
(1)No person shall be appointed by the University as a member of the academic Staff, except on the recommendation of a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose in accordance with the provisions of the Statutes made in that behalf:Provided that, appointment to the posts of Director of the University, Associate Deans, Head of a Department and Professor shall be made on the recommendation of the Selection Committee to be constituted by the Executive Council.(2)The Selection Committee referred to in the proviso to sub-section (1) shall consist of -(i)The Vice-Chancellor of the University,(ii)One non-official member to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor, from amongst the non-official members of the Executive Council,(iii)Two experts to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor,(iv)Two representatives of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, one of whom shall be a specialist in the particular field for which the recruitment is to be made,(v)The Dean of concerned Faculty.(3)The Vice-Chancellor shall act as Chairman of the Selection Committee.
