Section 161(1) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2017
(1)Every auxiliary fan:(a)shall be installed, located and worked in such a manner that-(i)a sufficient quantity of air shall, at all times, reach it so as to ensure that it does not recirculate air; and(ii)there is no risk of air, which it circulates, being contaminated by any substantial quantity of inflammable or noxious gases or dust;(b)shall, whether driven electrically or otherwise, be efficiently connected with earth so as to avoid the accumulation of an electrostatic charge; and(c)shall have an air-duct for conducting the air to or from the face or blind end, which shall be so maintained as to minimise any leakage of air and to ensure an adequate supply of air to within 3.0 meters of the face or blind end.
