17. Director of Academics and Research.
(1)There shall be a Director of Academics and Research, who shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board of Management. He shall be a full-time salaried officer of the University.(2)The qualification and other conditions of service of the Director of Academics and Research appointed under sub-section (1) shall be such as may be prescribed by Statutes.(3)The Director of Academics and Research shall be responsible for the academic activities of the University with regard to admissions, examinations, declaration of results, Academic Council, Board of Studies. He shall be responsible for application of information technology in the University activities such as development of software, client network connectivity, preparation of database etc.(4)The Director of Academics and Research shall be responsible for direction and co- ordination of research programmes and for the efficient working of the research stations. He shall prepare externally aided research projects, collaborative research activities, revolving fund projects.
