16. The Controller of Examinations.
(1)The Controller of Examinations shall be an academician in the field of medical science and a whole time officer of the University appointed by the Governing Council on such terms and conditions as may be fixed by the Governing Council.(2)The Controller of Examinations shall hold office for a period of three years and shall be eligible for reappointment for a further period of three years:Provided that no person appointed as Controller of Examinations shall hold office on attaining the age of fifty-eight years.(3)The Controller of Examinations shall exercise such powers and perform such functions and discharge such duties as may be prescribed in the statutes.
