Section 1 in The Punjab Registration of Money-lender's Act, 1938
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act shall be called the Punjab Registration of Money-lenders' Act, 1938.(2)It shall extend to [Punjab] [The word 'East Punjab' which replaced the word 'Punjab' by the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948, were substituted by the word 'Punjab' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.].(3)It shall come into force on such [date as the [State] [It came into force on 1st July, 1939, - vide Punjab Government Notification No. 3470-J-39/20108, dated 2.6.1939.] Government may, by notification, direct.
