Section 8(2) in The Karnataka Legislature Salaries, Pensions And Allowances Act, 1956
(2)[While touring inside India] [Substituted by Act 12 f 1959 w.e.f. 1.4.1959] the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, the Speaker and the [Deputy Speaker, the Leaders of the Opposition [,the Government Chief Whips and the Opposition Chief Whips] [Substituted by Act 31 of 1978 w.e.f. 26.12.1978]] shall be entitled,-(a)for journeys by train to [two times] [Substituted by Act 19 of 1974 w.e.f. 27.5.1974] the single fare of the highest class available in the train:Provided that if the [Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, the Speaker or the [Deputy Speaker] [Substituted by Act 3 of 1975 w.e.f. 14.10.1974], the Leaders of Opposition [,the Government Chief Whips and the Opposition Chief Whips] [Deemed to have been substituted by Act 16 of 2009 w.e.f. 01.01.2009]] reserves a compartment for the journey, the charges for such compartment shall be borne by the State Government:Provided further that if any person in addition to the [Chariman, the Deputy Chairman, the Speaker or the [Deputy Speaker] [Substituted by Act 3 of 1975 w.e.f. 14.10.1974], the Leader of the Opposition [,the Government Chief Whips and the Opposition Chief Whips] [Deemed to have been substituted by Act 16 of 2009 w.e.f. 01.01.2009]] travels in the reserved compartment, the charges in respect of such person shall be recovered and credited to Government.(b)for journeys by road, to road mileage at [[[thirty rupees] [Substituted by Act 18 of 2015 w.e.f. 30.04.2015]] per kilometre;](c)for journeys by air, to [one and one fourth] [Substituted by Act 32 of 2011 w.e.f. 04.07.2011] times the single fare paid for such journeys [and to the prescribed insurance premium for insurance against accidents during such journeys;] [Inserted by Act 18 of 1968 w.e.f. 1.11.1956](d)to daily allowance at [[[rupees two thousand] [Substituted by Act 18 of 2015 w.e.f. 30.04.2015]] per day for the days of journey and for the days of halt at any place:Provided that in the case of tours outside the State, the daily allowance shall be at [two thousand five hundred rupees and five thousand rupees per diem for stay in hotel or other registered establishment providing lodging and boarding at scheduled rates subject to production of bills] [Substituted by Act 18 of 2015 w.e.f. 30.04.2015]Provided further that if the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, the Speaker, or the [Deputy Speaker, the Leaders of the Opposition[,the Government Chief Whips and the Opposition Chief Whips] [Substituted by Act 31 of 1978 w.e.f. 26.12.1978]] is treated as a State Guest, he shall be entitled only to one-fourth of the daily allowance for the period for which he is treated as a State Guest.
