Section 59 in The Goa, Daman And Diu Land Revenue Code, 1968
59. Survey numbers and villages.
- Subject to the minimum size of a survey number that may be fixed from time to time for the several classes of land by the Government, the survey officer may-(a)divide the lands to which the revenue survey extends into survey numbers and group the survey numbers into villages; or(b)recognise the existing survey numbers, reconstitute them or form new survey numbers; or(c)subject to the provisions of any law for the time being in force for the prevention of fragmentation and consolidation of holdings, divide the survey numbers into as many sub-divisions as may, be required in view of the acquisition of rights in land or for any other reason.
