Section 18(4) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992
(4)The students of all semester/classes shall be promoted to the next higher semester, class after completion of examination conducted as per clause of sub-regulation (3) above and their attendance for next higher class shall be counted from the date of commencement of that session, schedule of which to be approved by the competent authority.
