(a)Superintendents (including Superintendents of Railway Police) shall maintain and keep in their personal custody confidential books.(b)The note book shall be maintained in two volumes. Volume I shall contain a brief note of the geographical features of the district with particular reference to means of communication, the relative healthiness of the police-station, special criminal features, important festivals or procession, relations between the communities, etc., etc. Volume II shall be kept in the nature of a "Who's who?" and shall contain in alphabetical order a brief character sketch of all important residents of the district and a note of their activities.(c)The object of this note book is to enable newly joined Superintendents to obtain a ready working knowledge of the conditions and people of the district and therefore information which is readily available in other standardised registers should not be included in it.(d)All entries must be signed and dated.
