Section 6 in The Rules for Grant of Scholarships for Prosecution of Higher Studies to Government Employees Belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 1962

(1)The amount of each scholarship to be granted under these rules shall be determined after taking into account the expenditure to be incurred by the Scholar on their studies on the following items and shall be subject to availability of funds:-(a)Enrolment or registration, Tuition. Union, Library Magazine, Medical Examination fees and such other fees compulsorily payable by the scholar to the institution or University/Board but the amount in no case shall exceed Rs. 100/-p.m. on all these items;(b)Pay and scale of the scholar and actual loss of emoluments caused due to grant of half average pay admissible during study leave;(c)Financial position of the family to which the scholar belongs.(2)The scholar shall purchase the necessary text books, stationery etc. out of the amount of scholarship sanctioned under the said sub-rule (1)(a) above. If it is reported by the Head of the Institution concerned that a scholar has not purchased the text books etc., the value of scholarship may be reduced at the discretion of the Director.
