Section 5 in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Act, 1990
5. Colleges not be affiliated to any other University, and recognition of institutions by University.
(1)No college within the University area shall be affiliated to any University other, than the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University(2)No institution affiliated to, or associated with, or maintained by a(sic) other University in the State of Tamil Nadu shall be recognised by the University for any purpose except with the prior approval of the Government and the University concerned.
