Section 23(1) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

(1)A candidate appearing in Diploma or Certificate Examination other than Final Pharmacy Examination and the Final Secondary Technical Certificate Examination shall be declared to have passed an examination, if he/she obtains-
(a)not less than 33 per cent marks in written examination in each theory subjects;
(b)not less than 40 per cent marks in each of the practical examination;
(c)not less than 50 per cent sessional marks in each subject, theory/practical/project;
(d)not less than 45 per cent marks in the aggregate.
