(1)This Act may be called the Nagaland jhumland Act, 1970.(2)It extends to the whole of Nagaland, provided that the State government may, by notification in the official Gazette, exempt any place from the operation of the whole or part of this Act.(3)It shall come into force on such day as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas of the State and for different provisions of this Act.
