(10)to hold examinations and to confer degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions or persons who-(a)have pursued approved courses of study in the University or in an affiliated college unless exempted therefrom in the manner prescribed by the [Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations and Rules] [Substituted for 'Statutes, Ordinances and Rules' by Gujarat No. 30 of 2003, dated 19th September 2003.] and have passed the examinations prescribed by the University, or(b)have carried on research under conditions prescribed by the [Ordinances, Regulations or Rules] [Substituted for 'Ordinances or Rules' by Gujarat No. 30 of 2003, dated 19th September 2003.];
