29. Appointment of Inspecting Officer.
(1)The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint such persons on such class of persons as it thinks fit to be Inspecting Officers for the purposes of this Act within such local limits as it may assign to them respectively.(2)The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint any person to be the Chief Inspecting Officer who shall, in addition to such powers as may be prescribed for the Chief Inspecting Officer, exercise the powers of an Inspecting Officer throughout the State.(3)Every District Magistrate, the Additional District Magistrate of Saharsa, the Additional Deputy Commissioners of Dhanhad and Singhbhum and every Subdivisional Magistrate shall be an ex-officio Inspecting Officer within the limits of his respective jurisdiction.(4)The State Government may also, by notification as aforesaid, appoint such public officers as it thinks fit to be additional. Inspecting Officers for all or any of the purposes of this Act, within such local limits as it may assign to them respectively.(5)In any area where there are more Inspecting Officers than one, the State Government may, by notification as aforesaid, declare the powers which such Inspecting Officers shall respectively exercise and the Inspecting Officer to whom the prescribed notices are to he sent.
