Section 156 in Bihar Education Code, 1961

156. Age-limits of teachers to be appointed in primary and middle schools.

- The following age restrictions in respect of candidates seeking appointment as teachers are, laid down :-
(a)In the case of trained teachers, the candidates should not be over 45 years of age except in the cases of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and female candidates where the maximum age-limit is fixed at 48 years, provided that all such candidates who are above 35 years of age must have at least 5 years' actual teaching experience.
(b)In the case of untrained candidates, the age-limit is fixed at 27 years except in the cases of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and female candidates where the maximum age-limit shall be 30.
