Section 560 in The General Rules (Civil), 1957

560. Admission as pleader.

- Any of the following persons may be admitted as a pleader if he satisfies the High Court that he possesses an adequate knowledge of the Hindi language and can read and write it with ease and correctness and can also read and write the Urdu language in the Persian character; that unless he has passed an examination in the law relating to Land Tenures, Rent and Revenue in the State of Uttar Pradesh from a University recognised by Law, he possesses an adequate knowledge of that subject; and that he is a fit and proper person to be admitted as a pleader:-
(a)A person who has obtained a degree in Law from any University established by law in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
(b)A person who has obtained a degree in Law from any University recognised by law in India outside the State of Uttar Pradesh, provided that, unless specially exempted by the High Court, the High Court of the State in which such University is situate admits as pleader law graduates of the Universities situated in the State of Uttar Pradesh on a reciprocal basis.
(c)A person who took a degree in Law from the University of Dacca or Lahore before the 15th day of August, 1947, and has permanently settled in India.
(d)[ Subject to such conditions as the High Court may impose, a person who was, or is, entitled to practice as a pleader, Vakil or Advocate in an area which has been, or thereafter may be merged with the State of Uttar Pradesh.] [Inserted by Notification No. 126/VIII-b-48 and 1, published in U.
