Section 80(1) in The Bangalore Metro Railway (General) Rules, 2011
(1)Traction current shall ordinarily remain 'on' and shall be switched 'off' during traffic hours for a specified third rail section by the Traction Power Controller or through his authorised employee immediately after informing the Traffic Controller in emergency, like:-(a)to stop serious arcing or fusing;(b)to stop train in unusual circumstances; and(c)when flood water overflows the central drain.
