64. Classification of Teachers.
(1)Professors, Readers and Lecturers in Colleges and Lecturers and Heads of Departments in Polytechnics fulfilling the academic and other qualifications and conditions of experience laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and drawing pay in the AICTE pay scales or that approved by the State Government shall be recognised as Professors. Readers, Heads of Departments and Lecturers of the Vishwavidyalaya, Principals, of Colleges with a minimum 15 years teaching experience of minimum degree level in concerned subjects and drawing salary of the Principal approved by the State Government shall be recognised as Professor by the Vishwavidyalaya.(2)Visiting Professor means a Professor invited by Executive Council for a short term of not more than 6 months as stipulated in the contract.(3)A teacher who is appointed on part time basis in any institution shall not be given recognition by the Vishwavidyalaya.
