Section 63 in The Tamil Nadu Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 1957

63.

The following provisions shall be observed in providing seating accommodation-
(1)The gangways shall be not less than [1.25 metres] [Substituted by G.O. Ms No. 3999, Home, dated 23rd November 1962.] in width and shall arranged that no seat shall be more than 10 seats from a gangway.
(2)The angle of elevation subtended at the eye of any person seated in the row nearest to the screen by the length of the vertical line dropped from the centre of the top edge of the picture to the horizontal plane passing through observer's eye shall not exceed 35 degrees, the height of the eye of the person seated being [1.10 metres] [Substituted by G.O. Ms No. 3999, Home, dated 23rd November 1962.] above the floor level. A strong barrier or other efficient partition shall be provided to enforce this provision.
(3)The angle between the vertical plane containing the upper edge of the picture and the vertical plan containing the observers eye and the remote end of the upper edge of the picture shall not be less than 25 degrees. (4)[ In theatres where 70 mm. picture is exhibited, the front row shall not be near to the screen than the effective width of the normal picture for 35 mm, film ¾th of effective width, for cinema scope and half of the effective width for 70mm. film. The distance shall be measured from the back edge of the front row to the screen.
