Section 4D in Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961
4D. Term of office and conditions of service of the Chairman and members of Planning Authorities.
(1)Subject to the provisions of subsection (2), the term of office and conditions of service of the Chairman and members of a planning authority constituted under section 4C shall be such as may be prescribed and they shall be entitled to receive such allowances as may be fixed by the State Government.(2)The Chairman and members of a Planning Authority constituted under section 4C, except those nominated by local authorities shall hold office during the pleasure of the State Government. The representative of a local authority who is a member of that authority shall cease to be a member of the Planning Authority when he ceases to be a member of the local authority concerned.(3)The Chairman or any member may resign his membership of the Planning Authority by giving notice in writing to the State Government and on such resignation being accepted, he shall cease to be a member of that planning authority.(4)Any vacancies shall be filled by fresh appointment by the State Government or by nomination by the local authority concerned, as the case may be.
