26. Constitution of Academic Council.
(1)The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely : -Ex-Officio Members -(a)The Vice-Chancellor;(b)The Directors;(c)All Deans of Faculty;(d)All Deans of College;(e)The Registrar-Member Secretary.Other Members -(a)Members not exceeding five, from amongst the Heads of Departments to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, on rotational basis;(b)Three persons having special knowledge of or practical experience in different aspects of veterinary and animal sciences, preferably representatives of Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Veterinary Council of India to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor.(2)The Vice-Chancellor shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the Academic Council and the Registrar shall be the ex-officio Secretary of the Academic Council.(3)The term of office of the members of the Academic Council, other than the ex-officio members, shall be three years.(4)The members of the Academic Council shall not be entitled to receive any remuneration from the Vishwavidyalaya except such sitting fees, daily and travelling allowances as may be prescribed :Provided that nothing contained in the sub-section shall preclude any member from drawing his normal emoluments or allowances to which he is entitled by virtue of the office he holds.(5)A member of the Academic Council other than the ex-officio members may tender resignation of his membership at any time before the expiry of the term of his office and such resignation shall be conveyed to the Chancellor by a letter in writing by the member and the resignation shall take effect from the date of its acceptance by the Chancellor.
