Section 17(8) in The Punjab Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963
(8)(a)In every canteen -(i)all inside walls of rooms and all ceilings, passages and stair- cases shall be lime-washed, colour washed or painted, as the case may be, and shall also be disinfected. Lime-washing or colour washing shall be carried out once in every year, painting once in every three years and disinfecting once in six months;(ii)all wood-work shall be varnished or painted once in every three years; and(iii)all internal structural iron or steel work shall be varnished or painted once in every three years :Provided that inside walls of the kitchen shall be lime-washed once in every four months.(b)Records of dates on which lime-washing, colour-washing varnishing, painting or disinfecting as the case may be, is carried out shall be maintained in a register in Form No. IV.
