ORDER
1. The petitioners' case is that they belong to Vimukat Jatis which were earlier known as criminal tribes during the British regime ... criminal tribes were denotified and they came to be known as Vimukat Jatis. The Vimukat Jatis were treated as Scheduled Castes and were accordingly included

were required to separately reserve 2% of the posts for
Vimukat Jatis / Bazigars. The petitioner, then, claims that in the
light of the Scheduled ... Annexure P-1) issued in view of the petitioner belonging to Vimukat Jati,
she is entitled to appointment upon such separate carving out of reserved
Scheduled Caste Sportsman are to be reserved upto 2% for the Vimukat
Jatis and Bazigars and only if no candidate of these two categories ... said post could be filled up only in case a candidate from
Vimukat Jatis/Bazigars were not available. Petitioner belongs to the Vimukat

I attest to the accuracy and

certificate of Vimukat Jati as Scheduled Caste certificate against the
latest instructions

website calling the candidates of Vimukat Jati to fill up those vacant
posts. The petitioners were entitled ... were considered and the remaining
vacant posts in the reserved category of Vimukat Jati were filled up as per
the merit from the candidates

given to the members of the Vimukat Jatis and Bazigar and even if it is
assumed for the sake
Scheduled Caste Sportsmen remains
unfilled, upto 2% thereof shall be given to Vimukat
Jatis/Bazigars, if any candidate in that category is found
eligible ... only
upto 2% of the reserved category posts can be offered to
Vimukat Jatis/Bazigars. Considering the fact that there was
only one post
writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the list of
Vimukat Jatis/denotified tribes, issued vide letter dated 27.01.2000 and all
other subsequent lists ... Mahtams/Rai Sikhs belonging to four erstwhile Police Stations of Punjab
(Vimukat Jatis) in the list of Vimukat Jatis/denotified tribes.
Grievance of the petitioners
petitioner belongs to
the Sansi Caste and thus covered under the Vimukat Jati and claimed her right to
appointment against the unfilled post of Staff ... submitted by the petitioner did not prove that it
related to the Vimukat Jati.
