157. Specific requirements to condition monitoring of structures and pipeline systems .-(1) Condition monitoring shall be carried out in respect of new structures during their first year of service.
(2)With regard to load bearing structures of a new type, data shall be collected for first two years in order to compare them with the design calculations.(3)With regard to pipeline systems where fault modes may constitute an environment or safety risk, inspections shall be carried out to map possible corrosion of the pipe wall.(4)Parts of the pipeline system where the lay condition or other factors may cause high loads, shall also be checked.(5)The first inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the maintenance programme as referred to in rule 156 on maintenance programme, not later than five years after the system has been put into operation.
