44. Notice regarding outbreak of fire on vessels to be given by masters etc.
(1)Any person noticing a fire in a ship shall immediately:(a)inform an officer of the ship who shall be responsible for raising the alarm in accordance with the provisions of sub-rule (2); and(b)if the ship is alongside a quay, treat the fire as on shore and raise the alarm in accordance with the provisions of sub-rule (2) and also inform an officer of the ship who shall also raise the alarm in accordance with the provisions of sub-rule (2).(2)The following methods shall be used for raising an alarm, namely :
