Section 44 in The Global Open University (Nagaland) Act, 2006
44. Boards of Studies.
(1)For each Department/Faculty, the University shall establish a Board of Study which shall comprise the following :(i)Senior most member of the academic community in the Department/Faculty concerned as the Chairman;(ii)The next senior most member of the academic community in the Department/Faculty concerned as the Vice-Chairman; and(iii)Three members of the Academic Committee in the Department/Faculty as members of the Board.(2)The Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the Board will be nominated by the Pro Chancellor.(3)The Board shall meet every quarter in a year and submit quarterly reports to the Academic Council which shall consider the reports at the earliest and report to the Governing and Executive Councils.(4)The reports of the Boards are advisory in character and mainly should relate to academic and connected administrative matters with the utmost aim of converting the Department/Faculty into a Centre of Excellence.(5)All other details relating to the conduct of meetings, functions etc., of the Boards of Studies shall be as per regulations.
