Section 27 in The Chhattisgarh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1994

27. Application for a Conductor's Licence.

(1)An application for a conductor's licence as required by sub-section (1) of Section 30 of the Act shall be made in Form C.G.M.V.R.-II (L. Con. A) and shall be accompanied by:-
(a)a medical certificate of fitness in Form C.G.M.VR.-12 (M C Con) signed by a registered medical practitioner; and issued not more than 30 days prior to the presentation of application;
(b)valid First-Aid Certificate in Form C.G.M.VR.-13 (F A) issued by the Civil Surgeon or the District Health Officer;
(c)two clear copies of the applicant's recent photographs of passport size;
(d)fees as specified in Rule 40;
(e)certificate of educational qualifications;
(f)evidence of address and age as specified in Rule 4 of Central Rules.
(2)Every applicant shall present himself before the Licensing Authority or the Board constituted under Rule 4 on such date, place and time, as the Licensing Authority or the Board, as the case may be, appoint for a test and satisfy such authority or the Board that the applicant possesses adequate knowledge and understanding of the following matters, namely :-
(a)The provisions of the Act and Rules made thereunder; relating to the duties and functions of the conductor;
(h)the duties of a conductor when his vehicle is involved in an accident resulting in the death or bodily injury of a person or damage to properly of a third person;
(c)The precaution to be taken while passing an unmanned railway crossing; and
(d)the documents he should carry with him while on duty.
(3)The Licensing Authority may in order to ascertain whether the applicant possesses a good moral character, make enquiries into the character and antecedents from the Superintendent of Police within whose jurisdiction the applicant resides or carries on business.
(4)The Licensing Authority on being satisfied that the applicant is fit for holding or obtaining a conductor's licence, may issue conductor's licence in Form C.G.M.V.R. 14 (L. Con.) for a period of three years.
