Section 12 in Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University Act, 2007
12. Academic Council.
(1)The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:-(i)The Vice-Chancellor,(ii)The Vice-Chancellor, [Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University]; [Substituted by G.O.Ms.No.31, Agriculture and Cooperation (Horti & Seri) Department, dated 22.12.2014.](iii)[ The Vice-Chancellor of [Sri P.V.Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University [Substituted by G.O.Ms.No.31, Agriculture and Cooperation (Horti & Seri) Department, dated 22.12.2014.]];](iv)The Deans of the faculties;(v)The Directors;(vi)The Dean of Students Affairs;(vii)The Controller of Examinations;(viii)The University Librarian;(ix)The University Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments of Colleges;(x)The Associate Deans of Colleges;(xi)The Associate Directors of Research of the Regions/Zones;(xii)Three Principal Scientists (Crop) to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(xiii)Two Members of the Board nominated by the Board;(xiv)Two eminent educationists from outside the University in the field of Horticulture nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(xv)One nominee of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research;(xvi)Two Associate Professors and two Assistant Professors from the Faculties nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(xvii)Two Principals of Polytechnics nominated by Vice-Chancellor;(xviii)The Registrar, Ex-officio Member-Secretary.(2)Academic Council may co-opt as members not more than two persons for such period and in such manner, as may be prescribed, so as to secure adequate representation of different sectors of horticulture/agriculture and allied fields.(3)Normally the Academic Council shall meet once in every six months on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor. However, special meetings of the Academic Council can be called by the Vice-Chancellor.(4)One third of the members of the Academic Council shall form quorum at a meeting of the Council:Provided that if a meeting of the Council is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business.
