Section 23(2) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992
(2)A successful candidate in the Final Diploma or Certificate Examination other than Final Secondary Technical Certificate Examination who obtains atleast:(a)Sixty-six per cent of the total marks in the aggregate shall be placed in the First Division.(b)Forty-five per cent of the total marks but less than 66 per cent of the total marks in the aggregate shall be placed in the Second Division.(c)A successful candidate of the Final Diploma or Certificate/ Special Back Paper Examination shall be awarded division on the basis of his aggregate obtained at the preceding Annual Examination.(d)A candidate getting 80 per cent or above in the aggregate shall be awarded 'Honours'.
