Section 22 in The Punjab Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1963
22. Canteen Managing Committee.
(1)The employer shall constitute a Canteen Managing Committee which shall be constituted from time to time to -(a)the quality and quantity of food-stuffs to be served in the canteen;(b)the arrangement of the menus;(c)time of meals in the canteen; and(d)any other matter as may be directed by the committee.(2)The Canteen Managing Committee shall consist of an equal number of persons nominated by the employer and elected by the motor transport workers. The number of elected workers shall be in the proportion of one for every 100 workers employed in the undertaking :Provided that in no case shall there be more than five or less than two motor transport workers on the Committee.(3)The employer shall determine the procedure for and supervise the election of the representatives of the motor transport workers to the Canteen Managing Committee.(4)The members of Canteen Managing Committee shall hold office for a period of two years from the date on which it is constituted :Provided that such member shall notwithstanding the expiration of their term continue to hold their office until the constitution of the next Canteen Managing Committee.
