27. Academic Council.
(1)Hie Academic Council shall be the academic body of the University and shall consist of the following members, namely:-(i)the Vice-Chancellor, ex-officio Chairperson;(ii)the Pro-Vice-Chancellor;(iii)the Deans of Faculties;(iv)not more than six members from the members of Faculties, who are not Deans, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(2)The term of office of the members of die Academic Council other than ex-officio members shall be three years:Provided that a member specified in the clauses (iii) and (iv) of sub-section (1) shall cease to hold office as such member if he ceases to be a Dean of a Faculty, or as the case may be, a member of the respective faculty.
