Published vide Notification New Delhi, the 9th May, 2012Ministry of Finance(Department of Economic Affairs)G.S.R. 350(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011, (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: -

1. Short title and commencement.

- These rules may be called the coinage of Ten Rupees and Five Rupees coins to commemorate the occasion of "60 years of the Parliament of India, Rules, 2012". They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

(a)The coins of the following denominations shall be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the occasion of "60 Years of the Parliament of India", namely:-
(i)Ten Rupees;
(ii)Five Rupees;
(b)the coins of the above denominations shall conform to the following dimensions, designs and composition, namely:-

Design

1. Ten Rupees

ObverseThe face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend ^^lR;eso t;rs inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word ^^Hkkjr in Devnagri script and on the right periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "र" and denominational value "10" in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.ReverseThe face of the coin shall bear the image of the Parliament House in the centre, with inscription ^^Hkkjr dh llan ds 60 o"kZ** in Devnagri script on the upper periphery and "60 Years of the Parliament of India" in English on the lower periphery. The year "1952-2012" shall be inscribed above the image of the Parliament House.

2. Five Rupees

3. Standard weight and remedy allowed:

- The Standard weight of the coins of the following denominations, coined to commemorate the occasion of "60 years of the Parliament of India", under the provisions of section 4 of the Coinage Act, 2011, (11 of 2011) and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the following Table, namely: -Table
